This is a spa resort and is considered to be the gem of Western Bohemia. It was visited by many famous composers, writers and poets, e.g. Beethoven, Mozart, Wagner, Chopin, Mahler, Goethe, Gogol and many others.
Today Karlovy Vary are best known for its colonnades (stone, wooden, iron) where the guests can enjoy the medicinal thermal springs (the warmest spring is 73,4 C). Apart from this, the town is famous for its spa biscuits and truly Czech liquor Becherovka and a world known glass factory Moser. Every year the town comes to life with the International Film Festival, which attracts many famous film actors and celebrities.
